TryEngineering Summer Institute Enrollment
Enrollment Requirements
Students with any level of engineering experience are welcome to attend the TryEngineering Summer Institute! All you need is an interest in learning more about engineering, time to attend our engineering summer camp, and in technology & engineering related professions.
- Students entering grades 9-12, or ages 13-17, in fall of program year are eligible
- No letters of recommendation, transcripts, essays or references required
- All levels of students are accepted, whether you have a little or a lot of engineering and technology experience

Tuition:
Sleepaway/Residential: $3495 ($3395 for IEEE members)
Commuter/Day: $2295 ($2195 for IEEE members)
Residential program tuition includes:
- Opening Sunday dinner
- All academic supplies and classes
- Double occupancy room in the residence hall
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in the campus dining hall
- Camp t-shirt
- Site visit and excursion expenses
- Transportation to and from activities during two-week session
- Super Saturday and Sleepy Sunday activities
- Closing ceremony
Commuter/Day program tuition includes:
- Opening Sunday dinner (check-in Sunday 3:00pm, depart 7:00pm)
- All academic supplies and classes
- Daily lunch in the campus dining hall
- Camp t-shirt
- Site visit and excursion expenses for Institute trips taking place during the day/class time
- Transportation to and from activities during two-week session
- Monday - Friday 9am-4:30pm
- Closing ceremony
Airport Pick-Up/Drop-Off Service
TryEngineering Summer Institute offers airport pick-up and drop-off service for students that may not live locally. A professional staff member will meet your student at the airport and escort them to the TryEngineering Summer Institute campus on the day the program starts. At the end of the program, your teen will be escorted back to the airport, and our staff member will remain at the airport until their flight departs.
Airport Pick-up/Drop-off service: $95 one way, $175 both ways
- Vaughn: LaGuardia (LGA) & JF Kennedy International (JFK)
- Texas A&M: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), or the airport on campus Easterwood Airport (CLL)
- Case Western University: Cleveland-Hopkins International (CLE)
- University of San Diego: San Diego International Airport (SAN)



Enrollment Process
Registrations will be accepted up until a week before the program begins or when the program fills, whichever occurs first. We recommend that students enroll as early as possible to reserve their spot. Please consult our FAQs for further details.
IEEE Member Family and Friends Discount
IEEE Members and their families and friends are eligible for a $100 discount. This can be combined with any other discount for which students may be eligible. Have your IEEE Member Number ready to take advantage of this discount.
Returning Student Discount
Did you have a great time at TryEngineering camp last year? Come back this summer to experience a refreshed curriculum and take advantage of a $100 discount on top of any other discounts. After registration, email us at info@tryengineeringinstitute.org to have the returning student discount applied to your account.


Scholarships
A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available for those who demonstrate financial need. Scholarship applications must include financial information, letters of recommendation and an essay. To learn more and apply for a scholarship, click here.
Registration Deadline
Registration Deadline:
Registration closes June 15th.
Registrations before May 15th: Spots can be secured with a $500 deposit.
Registration after May 15th: Accepted on a space-available basis; all registrations require full payment after this date.
Refund Policy
Register for the 2021 Summer Institute with confidence!
If the program is cancelled for any reason, we will issue full and complete refunds (including the deposit) to all of our students, just like we did in Summer 2020 due to COVID-19.
In addition, students may cancel their registrations for any reason by May 15, 2021 and receive a full refund including the deposit. After May 15th, 2021 all payments become non-refundable if a student withdraws, is dismissed or doesn't show for any reason.
If at any time TESI closes a program location, regardless of the date, then students may choose to receive a full refund or pre-register for 2022.
