Enrollment Requirements:  Engineering camp registration information

Students with any level of engineering experience are welcome to attend the TryEngineering Summer Institute! All you need is an interest in learning more about engineering, time to attend our engineering summer camp, and in technology & engineering related professions.

  • Students entering grades 9-12, or ages 13-17, in fall of program year are eligible
  • No letters of recommendation, transcripts, essays or references required
  • All levels of students are accepted, whether you have a little or a lot of engineering and technology experience

IEEE Discount:  $100 off any session of any type with no deadline for IEEE members. Enter your IEEE member number at the time of registration, or register with the deposit only, email us your member number and we will apply your member benefit to the remaining balance.

Residential program tuition includes:

  • Opening dinner

Commuter/Day program tuition includes:

  • All academic supplies and classes
  • Daily lunch in the campus dining hall
  • Camp t-shirt
  • Site visit and excursion expenses for Institute trips taking place during the day/class time
  • Transportation to and from activities during two-week session
  • Classes daily from 9am-4:30pm
  • Closing ceremony at the end of each session

Airport Pick-Up/Drop-Off Service

TryEngineering Summer Institute offers airport pick-up and drop-off service during engineering camp registration or by June 1st for students that may not live locally. A professional staff member will meet your student at the airport and escort them to the TryEngineering Summer Institute campus on the day the program starts. At the end of the program, your teen will be escorted back to the airport, and our staff member will remain at the airport until their flight departs.  Many more details available after registration.

Airport Pick-up/Drop-off service: $95 one way, $175 both ways

Enrollment Process

Registrations will be accepted up until a week before the program begins or when the program fills, whichever occurs first. We recommend that students enroll as early as possible to reserve their spot. Please consult our FAQs for further details.

 

Returning Student Discount

Did you have a great time at TryEngineering camp last year? Come back this summer to experience a refreshed curriculum and take advantage of a $100 discount on top of any other discounts. After registration, email us at info@tryengineeringinstitute.org to have the returning student discount applied to your account.

Engineering camp registration

Registration Deadline

Registration Deadline:

Registration for any session closes one week before the session begins, or when it sells out, whichever comes first.

Registrations before May 15th:  Spots can be secured with a $500 deposit.

Registration after May 15th:  Accepted on a space-available basis; all registrations require full payment required to register after this date.

MAY 16th NOTE  *if you need to make a special arrangement regarding payment, if you have to split between two cards, or have another situation, please call us to work out a plan for your particular special circumstances.  We can support you in. registering your future rockstar engineer.

 

Program Subject To Change:

If for any reason we must alter our program due to any conditions or reasons whatsoever, including weather, changes in governmental rules, we will follow all local and state regulations.

Refund Policy

We know that circumstances can sometimes change for every family. With that in mind, we have extended our deadline to withdraw for any reason until May 15, 2023.  

Before May 15, 2023:  you can cancel your enrollment for any reason and receive a full refund of all tuition paid or you can transfer your funds to 2024 and lock in 2023 pricing.

After May 15, 2023, no paid tuition, including additional charges, will be refunded to any student who withdraws, no-shows, or is dismissed from camp for any reason. 

After May 15:  All registrations must be paid in full at the time of registration.  If you need to talk to us about findig a way to pay across multiple czrds or over a couple days, we can work wiht you.  Just call us at 315-816-4023

Camp Insurance

There is an insurance policy available to our students and families to purchase in their campDoc account, our health form provider.  They offer camp insurance, and please note that the policy must be purchased within 14 days of registration.  Read more about it HERE.

 

Covid Policy:  COVID VAX IS NOT REQUIRED AT ANY OF OUR 2023 LOCATIONS

First and foremost, we are committed to student safety.  Our summer programs must follow all university and venue guidelines, as well as any city, state or federal laws, and that includes COVID policies, which continue to evolve.  

We will follow requirements for COVID vaccination for each location. We will update this page if policies change in the lead up to camp this summer, and we will be in communication with our registered families as we get closer to camp if needed or if anything changes.

Safety Updates

The TryEngineering Summer Institute will continue to monitor the local and national health guidance.  We will communicate any updates or changes to our health protocols to enrolled students as quickly as possible.  

Masks and Social Distancing

Students will be expected to follow all safety protocols based on the recommendations of public health guidelines and the requirements of our host universities and venues. This may include the wearing of face masks and social distancing. Failure to comply with established protocols will result in dismissal from the program.

Preparing For Camp:

We recommend that families take precautions in the weeks preceding camp (and always) to keep your child safe and free from any sickness or illness.  Do everything you can to keep your child healthy so that they arrive fresh, well-rested and ready to learn!

Program Modifications

We will continuously monitor the viability of our planned programming, and we reserve the right to make any changes necessary for safety or any other reasons without notice.
