IEEE Partners With NSLC to Enhance Engineering & Technology Education for High School Students

A new chapter is beginning for high school engineering education. IEEE TryEngineering has officially partnered with The National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) to strengthen and expand our engineering and technology programs starting in Summer 2026.

Through this collaboration, the TryEngineering Summer Institute (TESI) will align its educational framework with NSLC’s long‑standing pre‑college curriculum. Students enrolled in the Aerospace, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Cybersecurity, and Engineering programs will gain access to IEEE’s global expertise in STEM education, hands‑on learning, and curriculum design.

Jamie Moesch, IEEE Educational Activities Managing Director, echoed the shared mission behind the partnership. “By combining IEEE’s technical expertise with NSLC’s experiential learning model, we’re creating pathways for high school students to engage with cutting‑edge fields and preparing the broad talent pipeline industries will need to tackle humanity’s greatest challenges.”

Expanding Opportunities Across Leading Universities

Beginning in 2026, programs will be hosted at nine university campuses across the U.S. and U.K., including:

These locations provide students with an authentic university experience while they explore engineering in real‑world, hands‑on environments.

A Shared Commitment to Experiential STEM Learning

Across all five disciplines, students participate in hands‑on labs, technical workshops, and team‑based challenges that mirror real engineering practice. Leadership training is woven throughout each course, helping students build confidence, communication skills, and readiness for college and future careers.

Applications for Summer 2026 are now open, and early enrollment is encouraged due to high anticipated demand.
