Learning Resources: STEM Interactive Simulations

There are many great virtual interactive simulations for educators to infuse into their curriculum.

  • STEM Sims maintains over 100 simulations of laboratory experiments and engineering design simulations. STEM Sims are standards-based and include lessons, videos and more to deep engage students in a concept.
  • Founded in 2002 by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman, the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations. PhET sims are based on extensive education research and engage students through an intuitive, game-like environment where students learn through exploration and discovery. Check out the PhET Simulations Library and also the Tips for Using PhET
  • Gizmos are interactive math and science simulations for grades 3-12. Over 400 Gizmos aligned to the latest standards help educators bring powerful new learning experiences to the classroom.  Gizmos are providing 60-day free access during the Covid-19 crisis.
