TryEngineering Summer Institute: Unlocking Potential with Needs-Based Scholarships

Our TryEngineering Summer Institute offers an exciting opportunity for young minds to delve into the world of engineering, innovation, and problem-solving. What’s more, we are thrilled to announce that we provide needs-based scholarships, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder anyone’s chance to participate in this transformative program!

At our program, we believe in fostering a passion for engineering among the next generation of innovators. Through hands-on projects, behind the scene tours, and engaging speakers, campers will dive deep into various fields of engineering, from mechanical and electrical to civil and aerospace engineering. Our goal is to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork skills that are essential for success in the ever-evolving landscape of engineering.

Breaking Barriers with Needs-Based Scholarships

Our needs-based scholarships are designed to support individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing them with access to the same enriching experiences as their peers without any financial obstacles standing in their way! We are committed to ensuring that all passionate young engineers have the opportunity to attend our summer program, regardless of their financial situation.

How Our Scholarship Program Works

Our needs-based scholarship program is in place so any student has the chance to benefit from our summer program. Here’s how it works:

  • Application Process: Students interested in applying for a scholarship will need to submit the following information by March 31, 2024. If any portion is missing, the application will not be considered. 
    • Personal essay: 500-700 word essay answering the following question:
      • Why do you want to attend the TryEngineering Summer Institute, and what impact do you think it will have on your future?
    • Tax Information: You will need your Adjusted Gross Income from your 2022 or 2023 tax return. Note – You will not need to submit your tax forms unless you are awarded a scholarship.
    • Name and Email Address for 2 recommenders / endorsers.
      • Please note that recommenders / endorsers can only be current or former teachers, guidance counselors, mentors, coaches, and other individuals familiar with the applicant. Letters from family members will not be accepted.
      • The letters of recommendation must be submitted by March 31, 2024 in order to be considered for the scholarship.

  • Award Distribution: Scholarships cover some or all of the camp tuition fees. We will be in contact with the families who submit a completed application.
    • If awarded a scholarship, you will be contacted via email by a member of the TryEngineering Team to get your student enrolled.
    • You do not need to fill out our registration beforehand.
